Float to Live Water Safety Workshop

A 1‑Hour Water Safety Experience for Children (8+) & Adults

Give your family the confidence to stay safe around water this summer. Our Float to Live Training Course blends essential water‑safety knowledge with hands‑on practical skills, inspired by the RNLI’s trusted guidance. Perfect for individuals, parents, carers, and young people aged 8+, this one‑hour session is designed to empower everyone with life‑saving awareness.

In just 60 minutes, you’ll learn how to stay calm in unexpected situations, respond to cold water shock, perform the Float to Live technique, and know exactly what to do if someone gets into difficulty.

Whether you love open‑water swimming, enjoy beach holidays, or simply want peace of mind around rivers, lakes, and pools, this course gives you the tools to stay safe and confident.

 

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify water hazards — understand the risks around beaches, rivers, lakes, and pools
  • Manage cold water shock — recognise the body’s response and how to stay in control

  • Perform the Float to Live technique — a simple, proven method that can save your life

  • Help someone in difficulty safely — what to do (and what not to do) in an emergency

  • Follow the Water Safety Code — essential guidance for safe decision‑making

  • Know when and how to call for help — confidence in real‑world emergency situations

 

Course Structure

30 minutes – Classroom Learning Engaging, interactive teaching covering water safety, cold water shock, hazard awareness, and emergency response.

30 minutes – Practical Water Session Hands‑on practice of the Float to Live technique and safe responses in a controlled environment.

Total Duration: 60 minutes
